Màu chữ

In recent times, many ethnic minority families in Ca Mau province have always created all conditions for their children to go to school and study properly. Not disappointing their families' expectations, the children have strived and made efforts to study and become useful people for their families and society. Thereby, spreading the spirit of studiousness among ethnic minorities, contributing to building the homeland and country to become richer and stronger.

Ethnic minorities always try to overcome difficulties in life, creating conditions for their children to have proper education.

To promote the studious spirit of ethnic minorities, our Party and State have issued many support policies, from tuition exemptions, scholarships, monthly living allowances to parallel teaching of ethnic languages and Vietnamese so that children can easily acquire knowledge and preserve the national cultural identity. In addition to the support policies of the Party and State, Party committees and local authorities have also stepped up propaganda and mobilized ethnic minority families to strive to improve their lives and take care of their children's education.

Mr. Huu Sung, the head of the Farmers' Association of Duong Dao hamlet, Ho Thi Ky commune, Thoi Binh district, said: “As a hamlet with a large Khmer ethnic population, I together with the local authorities, regularly visit and promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people to have timely support solutions. In general, the ethnic minorities in the hamlet always trust and comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws. They always strive to improve their lives, actively work in production, business, develop the family economy and take care of their children's education. Thanks to the efforts of all levels, sectors and the families of each ethnic minority household, the studious movement in the hamlet has developed strongly. Many families, including ethnic minority households, have overcome difficult circumstances to send their children to school and have now returned to their hometowns to work and contribute to building their homeland. That is why Duong Dao hamlet is also called “university hamlet” because the people here strongly spread the spirit of learning.

In addition to policies to support and encourage learning for ethnic minorities, the parents' awareness of striving and their own efforts to study are extremely important, deciding the learning path of their children. It can be seen that the awareness of taking care of their children to go to school and study of parents and ethnic minority households in the province has been significantly improved.

Ms. Huu Thi Tham, a Khmer ethnic, residing in Duong Dao hamlet, Ho Thi Ky commune, Thoi Binh district, said: “My husband and I were not lucky enough to be born in difficult circumstances, so we always told each other to try to ensure that our children could study properly, have jobs, have income to stabilize their lives and, more importantly, contribute to building our homeland and country. My husband and I are very happy that both of our children are trying hard to study, not letting their parents or teachers remind them. The children's efforts and efforts in studying are the motivation for my husband and I to try harder in life. The eldest son has now graduated and is working at the Tan Loc Commune Police, Thoi Binh district. The youngest daughter is studying at the People's Police College II under the Ministry of Public Security”.

Promoting the spirit of studiousness, many ethnic minority children have achieved success in their studies and contributed their youth to the locality.

Regardless of the expectations of their families and society, many children have strived to overcome difficult circumstances and achieved many academic achievements. This is the most important factor for them to continue pursuing their studies. Sergeant Trieu Van Nhan, Tan Loc Bac Commune Police, Thoi Binh district, is a Khmer ethnic person, said: “Since I was a child, I have dreamed of wearing the uniform of a People's Police officer. Therefore, I always strived to study hard and became a cadet of the Cultural School II under the Ministry of Public Security. After studying and training at school, I graduated and returned to my hometown Tan Loc Bac to work with the desire to contribute to building my hometown. I am currently assigned to be in charge of administrative reform, supporting people to make ID cards and advising the Commune Police Command to protect security and order in the commune. In addition to the assigned tasks, I together with departments, branches, unions and hamlets, regularly propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to ethnic minorities. From there, we participate well in implementing patriotic emulation movements in the locality, contributing to socio-economic development, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the commune.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tan Loc Bac commune, Thoi Binh district, said: “The Party Committee of the commune always pays attention to and directs the promotion of propaganda on the purpose, meaning and content of building a learning society to all classes of people, especially ethnic minorities in the commune. In recent times, the commune has actively coordinated with all levels and sectors to mobilize children to go to school, pay attention to and provide timely support for poor students and students with difficult circumstances to continue studying, not letting them drop out of school due to difficult circumstances. In addition, it is to commend, reward and encourage students to overcome difficulties to achieve high achievements in studying and training. Thereby, creating motivation, arousing the spirit of self-study and love of learning of students to boldly pursue the path of learning, contributing to building the homeland and the country”.

To promote the studious spirit of the people in ethnic minority areas, Party committees, authorities and organizations at all levels continue to pay attention and care for material and spiritual needs. Joining hands with schools and families to support and create the best conditions to encourage ethnic minority students to study, practice, cultivate morality and develop their abilities in all circumstances to become good citizens, good workers, and increasingly mature ethnic minority cadres. More than anyone else, ethnic minority students themselves must always be confident, united, constantly strive to improve, promote creativity in studying, training, and prepare well for their career and career to become useful citizens, together with students and youth across the country, contributing more to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
