Ca Mau province has a particularly important location in connection to eco-social development of the whole country. Two power plants Ca Mau 1 and 2 with capacity of 1,500 MW and Ca Mau fertilizer plant has a capacity of 800,000 tons were in operation and with stable production condition. Many seafood processing plants were invested and the upgrading and expansion improved with modern technology. Total designed capacity 150.000 tons/year. Exported seafood products are now able to be competitive in many demanding markets such as the US, Japan, Australia and EU...

Recently, Ca Mau has been recognized by UNESCO as Ca Mau Cape world biosphere reserve; Ca Mau Cape National Park was recognized by World Environment Organization as the 2088 Ramsar site of the world; two mangrove ecosystems, mangrove swamp, flooded brackish forest, with a coastline of 254km, fishing ground 71,000km2 across and over 266,000 hectares of mangroves for coastal aquaculture... so Ca Mau would has many potential advantages to attract investment and economic development. On the other hand, the central government are focusing on infrastructure investment for the Mekong Delta region with many important works such as Can Tho international airport, the highway Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City route (phase 2). Ca Mau would be very close to the major economic centers such as Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and shorten the development gap with other regions in the country. The Province is focusing on investment and completion in infrastructures for Khanh An, Hoa Trung, Nam Can, Song Doc industrial Areas.

To attract effectively investment from all economic sectors, Ca Mau province has called for investment at priority in critical areas such as investment in infrastructure of industrial parks; projects for investment to build urban, service area - serving residential and industrial zones; projects of secondary investment in industrial parks as seafood processing, animal feed production, packaging, materials construction, wood processing, garment for export ... investment projects, development of transport systems and promote socialization policies in the fields of education, health, culture, sports, tourism smooth mechanisms and incentives.
