Rice product that is grown on shrimp farming fields in Ca Mau province of Ca Mau Province Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection has been certified and awarded the trademark of “Ca Mau organic rice” by National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, Vietnam Center for Brand Development and Consultancy.

Ca Mau province has over 300,000 hectares of land field for aquaculture. Including over 80,000 hectares of land for production under the combined rice-shrimp model.

Over the past years, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ca Mau province has been stepping up agricultural extension, assisting farmers in applying scientific and technical advances to production. Thereby, it is increasingly contributing to improve rice and shrimp productivity, yield, quality in the province. This production model is becoming a fruitful path, opening up growth prospects for the combined rice-shrimp production area in Ca Mau province.

After nearly two years of implementing the project of building, managing and developing the certified trademark of “Ca Mau organic rice”, up to now, it has reached the stage of completion and was granted the registration certificate for trademark of “Ca Mau organic rice” to Ca Mau province Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection.

Geographical areas of product and service bearing the certified trademark of “Ca Mau organic rice” include: The whole Thoi Binh and U Minh districts; Loi An and Khanh Binh Dong, Khanh Binh, Phong Dien, Phong Lac communes, Song Doc town (Tran Van Thoi district); Thanh Phu, Phu Hung, Hung My and Hoa My communes (Cai Nuoc district); Ly Van Lam, An Xuyen, Tan Thanh communes, ward 8 and Tan Xuyen (Ca Mau city).

Ca Mau organic rice is produced in natural environment, free from chemical fertilizers, chemical drugs, its grain is long, quality is delicious, rice is fragrant and pliable, good for the health of the user.
Currently, Doan Phat Cooperative (headquartered in Hamlet 8, Tri Luc commune, Thoi Binh district) is milling and packaging rice according to a clean process, for public health with “Tu Tam” brand - A specialty from Tri Luc countryside - belonging to Ca Mau organic rice for sale in the market.
