The General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, To Lam (the person wearing a white shirt on the left), attended the television program commemorating the 70th anniversary of the event of the gathering in the North (1954 - 2024) at the Ca Mau provincial venue.
The television program is associated with a meticulously staged artistic performance divided into three parts. Part 1 has the theme “Desire for unity”, set against the historical backdrop of the event of gathering forces to the North in 1954. It highlights the correct decisions made by President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Party regarding troop transfer. Following the historic victory at Dien Bien Phu, the French colonialists were compelled to sign the Geneva Agreement on July 20, 1954, which called for a ceasefire and the restoration of peace in Indochina. Vietnam established the 17th parallel as a temporary military demarcation line for the troop gathering of both sides. Thousands of officials, soldiers, and compatriots from the South voluntarily boarded trains to go North. Through this, it reflects the patriotic spirit, the willingness to contribute, and the devotion that emerges in the hearts of each person, as they are ready to leave behind their families, hometowns, and parents, setting aside their longing for home to embark on the journey with a desire for complete unification.

The artistic performances in the television program commemorating the 70th anniversary of the gathering of forces to the North (1954 - 2024) are intricately staged.
Part 2 is themed “An unbreakable bond” depicting the stories of the people from the North who, despite difficulties and shortages, always dedicated the best for their compatriots from the South, following the principle of “everything for our beloved Southern brothers and sisters”. This part showcases the solidarity, unwavering connection, and deep bond between the people, officials, and soldiers of both the South and the North. It affirms the strategic vision of President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Party in bringing the children of the South to the North to prepare a revolutionary force for the struggle for national liberation, as well as the far-sighted vision for developing and training officials when the country is fully unified.

The image of Southern students is recreated in the program.
Part 3, titled “Bringing glory to Vietnam”, depicts the image of a completely unified nation 21 years after the gathering of forces to the North in 1954. Each Southern child returns to their homeland in different ways, but all share a united spirit, creating a collective strength that has contributed to Vietnam's potential and status as it is today. This once again affirms that the gathering of forces to the North in 1954 was a correct decision made by President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Party.

The leader of the National Archives Center III handed over memorabilia to the family of Mr. Huynh Van Muon (from Bac Lieu Province), who participated in the gathering of forces to the North in 1954.
The television program commemorating the 70th anniversary of the gathering of forces to the North (1954 - 2024) is an opportunity to reflect on a significant historical milestone of the nation, highlighting the contributions and sacrifices made to achieve independence, peace, prosperity, and happiness. The event of gathering forces to the North in 1954 has become a symbol of patriotism, national unity, and the resolute determination of our military and people. The sacred values of this event continue to resonate on our nation's path of building and defending the Fatherland to this day.
