Ca Mau province has 3 sides adjacent to the sea, the area of the territorial sea is about 67,000 km2. This is a sea with a large stock of seafood and is rich in species.

Hon Da Bac Island cluster has an area of 6.3 ha, the highest peak is 24m.
Ca Mau has a coastline of more than 254km, accounting for 1/3 of the length of the coast of the Mekong Delta, equal to 7.8% the whole country's coastline and there are many estuaries connecting to the sea such as Ganh Hao, Bo De, Ong Doc, Ong Trang, Bay Hap, Khanh Hoi etc. On the sea, there are Hon Khoai, Hon Chuoi, Hon Buong and Hon Da Bac, which are very convenient for boats to anchor, shelter from storms and develop marine economy. Ca Mau sea has an area of 71,000 km2 to explore and exploit, is considered as one of the four key fishing grounds of the country, has a large and abundant seafood reserve in variety. The reserve of floating fish is estimated at 320 thousand tons, bottom fish is 530 thousand tons, with 661 species, 319 varieties, belonging to 138 families. Many types of shrimp and fish have high value and output such as shrimp, squid, crab, snapper, grunt, mackerel, codfish, pomfret, grouper, cobia, etc. Coastal water surface region has great potentiality in breeding aquatic products as clams, blood cockles, oysters, saltwater shrimp etc. with high economic value. Catching output is about 300 thousand tons/year.
Ca Mau Sea is a region with many kinds of plankton, which is a food source for fish and shrimp to breed and grow. Recently, the sea gates have been dredged and renovated, and the number of fishing boats has increased rapidly, suggesting a way to solve many problems, such as shifting the economic structure towards the sea. The sea is also associated with the advantages of sea transport, Hon Khoai and Hon Chuoi island clusters (places where fishing ports and marine service centers can be built) and coastal areas as a springboard to accelerate the marine economy and these clusters have a very favorable geographical and economic position for the economic development of the province, region and the whole country.

Ca Mau Sea is located in the Southwest Sea (most of it is the Gulf of Thailand), this is the sea stretching from the sea of Tien Giang province to Ha Tien (Kien Giang province). In the waters, there are 156 large and small islands of the 5 archipelagos and individual islands. This is the sea area adjacent to many countries such as Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, so this sea area plays the role of the gateway of the Mekong Delta to the countries in the region and is important for the economic development of the country.

In the sea area of Ca Mau province, there are 3 near-shore island clusters: Hon Khoai island cluster (area 577ha, highest peak 318m), Hon Chuoi island cluster (area 55.22 ha, highest peak 165m), and Hon Da Bac island cluster (area 6.3ha, highest peak 24m). In particular, Hon Khoai island cluster has the ability to develop tourism and marine economic services and has an important position in defense security protection due to its linguistic position at the gateway of the Gulf of Thailand, located in the middle of the East Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
