The province has completed construction and put into operation the Provincial General Hospital, with scale of 500 beds, contributing to limit the overloaded state and improve the examination and treatment quality to people. The Obstetrics-Pediatrics Hospital have been established and set into operation is participating actively in taking health care for mothers and babies. The health network at grassroots level is continuing to be consolidated, up to now, 100% of communes, wards, townlets have been provided with medical station on the area;
100% of health stations have midwives and obstetricians; 100% hamlets have medical staffs, etc. By the end of 2016, the province has an average of 11,5 doctors, university pharmacists / ten thousand people and 26,2 beds / ten thousand people; the percentage of population participating in health insurance reaches 81,5%. By early 2017, Ca Mau province has 100% of communes, wards and townships reaching the National Commitment Criteria for Commune Health in 2011-2020.
The socialization of health has achieved many results, many private clinics operate effectively, actively contributing to the State health system to take care of people health, etc. Ca Mau province has 594 establishments operating private medical practice; 797 pharmaceutical practice facilities; General clinics, private clinics, and pharmaceutical trading systems have spread throughout the countryside. To ensure the demand for quality health service provision, thus contributing importantly to the system of protection, care and improvement of the people's health; reduced overload in national hospitals. Inspection and supervision work shall be conducted regularly, periodically and extraordinarily to rectify the private medical or pharmaceutical practice; Remind the premises of the offense and penalties required by law; Regularly hold monthly meetings to provide information, update new documents, improve knowledge, professional skills, participate in the work of disease prevention and support, the support of public health, to solve in time difficulties and problems in private medical or pharmaceutical practice.
