On the evening of November 9, 2024, at the Ca Mau Provincial Convention Center (Ward 1, Ca Mau City), the Marathon - Ca Mau 2024 PETROVIETNAM Cup (running race) is directed by Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province in coordination with Vietrace365 Joint Stock Company, and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PETROVIETNAM) as brand sponsor has officially opened. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice-Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the race and Mr. Tran Quang Dung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.

The Marathon - Ca Mau 2024 PETROVIETNAM Cup continues to be held in Ca Mau city, with the theme “Ca Mau Rendezvous”. This is one of the events in the series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Northward rally (1954 -2024). This year's tournament attracted 6,000 athletes. Of which, there are 02 foreign athletes. The youngest athlete is 06 years old and the oldest is 76 years old. On September 09 and 10, 2024, the distances of 1.2km and 2.4km for athletes aged 06 to 15. Professional and amateur male and female athletes will compete in distances of 42km and 21km; 10km and 5km.
This is the third consecutive year that the tournament is directed by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, with the brand sponsor: Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PETROVIETNAM), diamond sponsors including: Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company; Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation and Vietnam Gas Corporation. In addition, there are also units and enterprises inside and outside the province co-sponsoring the running race. Singer Tung Duong is the media ambassador for this year's season.

Through the race, the Organizing Committee conveys the message “Ca Mau is a safe destination, a place with amazing natural landscapes, fresh climate, a land with gentle, honest, loyal, and hospitable people”. The race continues to promote the relationship of exchange and cooperation; is an opportunity for investors, tourism experts, and travel companies to approach, survey, and learn about the potential, advantages and preferential investment policies of the province, especially in the tourism sector. Participating in the race, athletes will once again conquer the race track and have more opportunities to experience cultural, sports and commercial activities in the series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Northward rally (1954-2024) held at many locations in the province in the coming days.
