Summary and rewards for teaching and learning Khmer and Chinese letters in summer 2024
On the afternoon of November 4, 2024, the Provincial Ethnic Committee held a conference to summarize and commend the work of teaching and learning Khmer and Chinese letters in the summer of 2024.

The Provincial Ethnic Committee awarded certificates of merit to organizations that have actively promoted and mobilized ethnic minority children to participate in learning Khmer and Chinese letters in the summer of 2024.
In the summer of 2024, the Provincial Ethnic Committee coordinated with relevant units to organize a training course to improve pedagogical skills for Khmer teachers, with 50 participants. During 5 days, the students were trained in the following topics: Teaching language components and language skills; implementing Khmer language lesson plans and organizing assessments for each topic; orienting Khmer teaching methods according to new textbooks. At the end of the training course, 49 students were eligible to receive a certificate of completion of the training course. Through training and improving pedagogical skills for Khmer teachers, it is an opportunity to supplement knowledge to help the team of teachers participating in teaching Khmer, master pedagogical skills, and students return to their localities to better serve the work of teaching Khmer. Taking care of educating children in the Khmer ethnic minority area to learn their own language and writing, contributing to preserving and promoting the national cultural identity, implementing educational policies, and preserving the written language of ethnic minorities.
For the teaching of Khmer and Chinese letters in the summer of 2024, 23 Khmer teaching summer schools have been organized in the province, with 30 teachers, 34 teaching classes and 595 students; 01 Chinese teaching point with 07 teachers, 09 classes and 94 students participating in the study. The teaching and learning of Khmer and Chinese characters in the summer has equipped students with the skills to read and write common sentences, and to be able to communicate with each other in the language and writing of their ethnic group. Thereby, helping students improve their knowledge and understanding of customs and practices, and preserve the traditional language and writing of their ethnic group.
On this occasion, the Provincial Ethnic Committee awarded certificates of merit to 03 groups and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in teaching Khmer and Chinese characters and mobilizing and promoting ethnic minority children to participate in learning Khmer and Chinese characters in the summer of 2024.
